World Halal Summit, Istanbul (Turkey)

27. November 2025

Eyes on Animals and Acısız Kesim attended the World Halal Summit in Istanbul to network with halal meat certifiers and raise concerns (one on one but also via the microphone during Q&A) about the ongoing animal suffering we continue to witness in Turkey and many other countries during slaughter. In the majority of halal-certified slaughterhouses in Islamic countries, … [Mehr...] about World Halal Summit, Istanbul (Turkey)

Nachkontrolle im Rinderschlachthof Çorlu, Türkei

26. November 2025

7. November 2025

He was one of three speakers in the session on dairy. It was an inspiring morning … [Mehr...] about EonA gives a talk at Caring Congress in NL about our work as auditor of Kalverliefde (calf-at-foot) dairy

Schlachtferkel aus den Niederlanden nach Kroatien: Überbelegung, Durst, Sterblichkeit und mangelnde Durchsetzung der Vorschriften

4. November 2025

Eyes on Animals and Japanese delegation visit Compaxo slaughterhouse in Zevenaar (NL)

30. September 2025

Compaxo stands out as the only large-scale pig slaughterhouse in the Netherlands that uses electric stunning rather than CO₂ gas. This is a significant distinction, as electric stunning—when carried out properly—renders pigs unconscious immediately. In contrast, CO₂ stunning causes pigs to experience 10 to 25 seconds of stress, fear, and even panic due to the sensation of … [Mehr...] about Eyes on Animals and Japanese delegation visit Compaxo slaughterhouse in Zevenaar (NL)

To learn firsthand about how to advance more humane slaughter methods that reduce fear, stress, and pain in animals. Today we brought the group to Willems Abattoir in Druten—a … [Mehr...] about EonA hosts Japanese to Learn More Humane Slaughter Practices -Willems slaughterhouse, NL

Catching and loading BLK turkeys with the TA800 catching machine

24. September 2025

Last night, Eyes on Animals observed the loading of turkeys using the TA800 catching machine from CMC-Industries. We were invited by Bram Godrie of GTC Technics and turkey farmer Dirk van der Sterren. The turkeys were kept according to the Beter Leven1-star criteria, which mainly means they had slightly more space and enrichment materials. In total, 3,500 turkeys … [Mehr...] about Catching and loading BLK turkeys with the TA800 catching machine

Dear friends,

After years of our fieldwork and our enforcement requests, the NVWA (the Dutch government inspection authority) is finally taking action.

The NVWA has made it clear to the entire calf export-import industry between Ireland and the Netherlands: transporting unweaned calves for more than 30 hours without milk will no longer be tolerated.
