No more goat-kids slaughtered at just 7 days old

As of January 1, 2025, goat kids can no longer be slaughtered before they are at least two weeks old. Many of them are now fattened for 3 to 5 weeks and receive slightly better care. This change was largely driven by the efforts of Eyes on Animals, which brought attention to the transport of very young goat kids in the media and political arena. EonA talks at European Parliament in Brussels

Today we gave a talk at the European Parliament. We were invited by MEPs Anja Hazekamp and Sebastien Everding. Slaughterhouse Beck currently not open to a visit from Eyes on Animals

In December 2024, Eyes on Animals carried out an unannounced visit to Beck slaughterhouse in Kupferzell, Germany. Beck specializes in the slaughter of piglets. More and more interest in moving away from CO2-gas stunning

Hopeful news- yesterday we hosted managers from a large pork company in the UK to come and see the abattoir we worked with for the past 3 years to create an improved automatic electric-stunning design, whereby hundreds of pigs per hour are no longer forced into one single file anymore and stress has been drastically reduced. Good News from Ghana: Major Improvements at Cape Coast Slaughter Slab
