September 20, 2023

Asalet from Eyes on Animals met with Islam theologian professor Dr. Faruk Beşer. He is a respected and influential theologian. Asalet told him about the suffering he sees inside Turkish abattoirs and the difference stunning animals (rendering them unconscious) prior to tethering, shackling and cutting their throats, makes to the level of fear and pain they experience. They … [Read more...] about Meeting the influential theologian about Islam and the need to accept stunning in Turkish abattoirs

EonA interviewed on Turkish television

Asalet, our inspector and trainer in Turkey for Eyes on Animals, was on BR TV in Turkey last night, together with a colleague from HAYTAP. Additionally, we have observed that calves are consistently kicked and … [Read more...] about VanDrie Group ignores continuous violations in calf imports

EonA exposes hypocrisy by Gimdes, a Halal certifying company in Turkey, that produces a booklet on “Halal” meat

August 29, 2023

During our work in Turkey, visiting cattle and sheep slaughterhouses, we sadly often see horrendous animal suffering. Animals have their throats slit while fully conscious and sentient, but are also chained up by one leg and hoisted fully off the floor or have their legs tied up or are rotated on their backs, often after being electric prodded or very roughly … [Read more...] about EonA exposes hypocrisy by Gimdes, a Halal certifying company in Turkey, that produces a booklet on “Halal” meat
