Today we made an unannounced visit to the pig slaughterhouse VION in Boxtel. The purpose of this visit was to check the pig trucks and to discuss with the drivers possible improvements to the trucks to improve animal -welfare. Training course given to road inspectors in Eger, Hungary

Inspection of EU livestock trucks heading to Turkey

During the week from July 21 to 29 Eyes on Animals and the Animal Welfare Foundation worked at the EU/Turkey border to check on livestock trucks. The situation at this border remains as problematic as 5 years ago; serious infringements and animal suffering were again documented. Transport inspection of Dutch spent hens to Poland

Tonight while conducting random inspections, we spotted 2 poultry trucks parked beside an egg farm in Dreumel, the Netherlands. We want to check on the welfare of the birds during catching and loading and ask the farmer for permission to enter, which he accepts. Training course given to veterinarian inspectors in Macedonia

Vets discussion about the suitability of the transport

Eyes on Animals training material is now in use in Macedonia to train the official veterinarians there on animal transport legislation and practical tips to enforce it correctly. Inspection of Mondfrans truck transporting young calves from Lithuania to Dutch veal farm

EonA team was out on the highways in the Netherlands today conducting random inspections of livestock trucks. A truck from the company Mondfrans with calves from Lithuania was spotted heading to a veal farm in the east part of The Netherlands. Calves were between 3 and 5 weeks of age.
