Rebutal to Dr. Katme’s illogical claim that rendering animals unconscious prior to slaughter is haram and that slaughter on fully conscious animals is ethical

December 30, 2023

the throat of a cow hoisted alive is cut by a worker in the slaughterhouse

There are many people who claim to know best what products and actions are halal (allowed) or haram (forbidden) by Islam law. Unfortunately not all people, even ones that appear important, necessarily have the expertise or the experience of what is taking place on the ground to justify having such strong and self-assured opinions. Many of these strong opinions are simply … [Read more...] about Rebutal to Dr. Katme’s illogical claim that rendering animals unconscious prior to slaughter is haram and that slaughter on fully conscious animals is ethical

Calves not given any milk for over 30 hours

July 10, 2023

hungry and exhausted calves on long distance transport

Investigations by Eyes on Animals, Ethical Farming Ireland and L214 reveal that young calves, imported from Ireland, are still kept on board of trucks for over 30 hours without giving them any milk. Wat een goed nieuws! Er komt nu definitief een einde aan deze onnodige mishandeling van dieren. In 2022 gaven de VVD en PvdD de minister de opdracht om dit verbod in te voeren. Goed dat het nu geregeld is.
