Appeal against decision of NVWA concerning wounded sows at Lunteren pig assembly centre

May 18, 2023

On March 8th, 2021 we found a truck parked at Lunteren assembly centre with two seriously injured sows onboard. We filed an enforcement request with the NVWA, but this was denied due to “lack of evidence”. Our objections against this decision were declared unfounded. The NVWA advised that the veterinarian on duty that day, did not see the sows. Also, according to the … [Read more...] about Appeal against decision of NVWA concerning wounded sows at Lunteren pig assembly centre

New film on the fate of Irish unweaned calves on “illegal” export routes that EU tolerates

January 14, 2022

Ireland continues to break EU feeding laws for unweaned calves during transport when they export them to mainland Europe via roll-on roll-off ferry. From the moment the calves are loaded on the trucks in Ireland to the moment they are finally given feed/milk after arrival in France at least 24 - 30 hours have gone by. Milk is the only type of “ feed”  these young animals … [Read more...] about New film on the fate of Irish unweaned calves on “illegal” export routes that EU tolerates

Screenshot New film by Eyes on Animals schowing how spent hens are caught in Europe

Eyes on Animals has been documenting how spent laying hens are caught and loaded in Europe. This is just some of the footage and it is not even the worst. Spent hens raised on large farms are caught like this around the world and sadly even European officials and Member States have been tolerating it, despite it clearly being in violation of EU legislation. EU … [Read more...] about New film by Eyes on Animals showing how spent hens are caught in Europe
