Further renovations at Kumasi pig abattoir, Ghana

Slaughterhouse Beerten not interested to improve animal welfare

Eyes on Animals visited Beerten slaughterhouse in Zieuwent on 2nd October 2019. Mainly piglets and cattle are slaughtered at  Beerten. Initially we were pleased that Beerten was open to our visit. WACPAW and EonA held a practical training for the slaughterhouse personnel and manager of JFamco abattoir in Accra (Ghana). Today Eyes on Animals had a meeting with the worker's council of the KDS (The Animal Sector Quality Inspection Foundation) about the welfare of animals and employees in extreme heat.
