This morning the EonA/AWF team visited the livestock market in Tuzla. We were told that animals would be sold today, but actually it was very quiet and most pens were empty. Our team has discovered an animal market at Petrič in Bulgaria. It appears to be an illegal market since it takes place on the road in the suburbs of the town of Petrič.   A cattle-market for culled cows in Bunnik (near Utrecht in The Netherlands) was visited unannounced today by two Eyes on Animals inspectors and a new volunteer. After a visit to the sheep market and the cattle-market, Eyes on Animals inspectors now visited the calf market in Leeuwarden. The market itself again made a decent impression. There was enough straw and the calves had plenty of space. Eyes on Animals inspectors made a visit to the cull-cow market in Leeuwarden. Like at previous visits, it made a positive impression. The vet hired by the cattle-market gave us an extended tour. He explained and clarified things and answered our questions. He seemed to genuinely care about the welfare of the animals.
