Inspection of cattle transports passing through Hungary to Turkey

This morning the EonA/AWF team observed the departure of three trucks carrying the German pregnant heifers that had been unloaded at the Vet Express control post near the Hungarian/Romanian border for the required 24-hour rest yesterday. Inspection of livestock trucks near Hungarian/Romanian border

Hunland is a large animal transport and export company. Their main office is in Hungary where they also have a huge farm. Here cattle (Hungarian and from abroad) are fattened and many are then exported to countries like Turkey, Russia, Egypt, Israel etc... Today our AWF/EonA team checks on two trucks of the company Hefter with pregnant heifers from Germany on board that cross the Turkish border at Kapikule. At the feeding station near the border, the animals are watered and fed with hay, which has been carried along from Germany, but they are not unloaded. Today seven animal transports with breeding cattle from Austria and the Czech Republic pass the Turkish border at Kapikule. Inspection of Hunland truck with German piglets for Romania
