Sows in horrible condition at collecting center in Lunteren (NL)

March 8, 2021

On March 8 Eyes on Animals dropped by a pig collection center in Lunteren (NL) to further distribute our manual on humane euthanasia of unfit animals. On the premises there was a trailer with sows on board. We heard a lot of screaming from inside the truck. We knocked on the office door and rang the doorbell at the house on the property but no one answered. Concerned about … [Read more...] about Sows in horrible condition at collecting center in Lunteren (NL)

January 15, 2021

Eyes on Animals visited a big Dutch slaughterhouse to observe if drivers delivering the pigs took precautions to protect the pigs from the cold weather (1-2 degrees) today.  We observed several drivers that had left almost all of the side shutters of their truck open when they arrived. This of course is far too cold for the pigs, especially with the wind chill when … [Read more...] about Inspection of pig trucks during cold weather

We therefore tried to contact the owner by e-mail but, even after several attempts, we did not receive a response. Therefore, we have to assume that Blonk is not interested in a conversation with and/or advice from Eyes on Animals … [Read more...] about Livestock Trader Blonk not interested in dialogue with Eyes on Animals

June 15, 2020

Unweaned Calves

Animals transported on journeys including a RORO must be fed at the same frequency as ones transported solely by road. This means the journeys of unweaned calves being trucked from farms in … [Read more...] about IMPORTANT NEWS: Transport of unweaned calves by truck and ferry from Ireland to France systematically violates EU feeding intervals
