Training and upright catching at Demeter poultry farm De Dennenhoeve

Today Eyes on Animals gave an animal welfare training to the catching team of Kees Sijbenga of Demeter poultry farm de Dennenhoeve. Bravo to Rondeel poultry and egg company !

Did you know that Rondeel is one of the 2 egg companies that made the switch to the EonA upright method of catching hens ? It means that they humanely catch hens one or maximum 2 at a time, holding the birds upright and supporting them under their breasts, and placing them in the transport crates upright. Animal welfare training at Jekal, Van den Broek and Den Ouden at Kipster

Today we gave an animal welfare training to three catching teams: Jekal, Van den Broek and Den Ouden. When the training was finished, the catching teams had collectively caught more than 21,000 chickens using the Swedish way. Jolmers shows us their welfare course

Today we visited Jolmers Opleidingen. Jolmers is one of two institutes in the Netherlands that provides the new and compulsory course for chicken catchers. Training of Pots chicken catchers

Last night we gave a poultry- welfare workshop to Pots chicken catchers near Zwolle. Roughly 15 catchers were present to learn about the physiology of poultry, and what to pay attention to during catching and loading in order to reduce stress and suffering. 🐄💕 Eyes on Animals and #Kalverliefde hosted a conference in the Netherlands called “Giving Milk a Good Shake.”
