EonA visits organic dairy goat farm De Groote Stroe in Stroe

Visit of organic goatfarm “De Geitenhoeve”

Today Eyes on Animals visited  “De geitenhoeve” in Tilburg (NL), where we were warmly welcomed by the farmer and his wife. De Geitenhoeve is an organic goat farm where 600 goats are milked. Goatfarm Twiegweerd not interested in visit from Eyes on Animals

Today we made an unannounced visit to Twiegweerd goat farm in Zalk (NL).  In general, most goat farms are open to a visit from  Eyes on Animals. However, the farmer of Twiegweerd was suspicious and did not want to give us a tour of his farm. The farmer was prepared to tell us a little about his farm. He milks 3000 goats. Little goat lambs

Today we made an unannounced visit to dairy goat farm Van Diepen in Heerhugowaard. The owner, Johan, took the time to speak with us and gave us a tour of the lamb section. Johan milks 500 goats. Visit to calf farm of Tijs de Koning

Calves kept in groups on slatted floors

Today we brought an unannounced visit to the calf farm of Tijs de Koning. Tijs welcomed us to take a look at his farm, were he keeps 1,300 rosé calves. The calves were kept in a conventional manner – in groups on slatted floors. Because the calves are fattened for rosé meat there is no restriction of iron intake. Visit pig farm Dykhoeve in Herwen

Digging in the ground

Today a team from Eyes on Animals visited pig farm Dykhoeve in Herwen. Farmer Jeroen keeps his pigs here in a more natural environment. The pigs walk in fields where they can dig the ground with their snouts and search for food. The pigs have wooden houses with plenty of straw, where they are free to go in whenever they want. Big goat milk farm Klavergeit

On 3rd August we paid an unannounced visit to the big goat milk farm “Klavergeit” in the Netherlands. The farm houses 1640 goats. The barn was well ventilated and there was plenty of daylight.
