Today Asalet from Eyes on Animals did a follow-up visit at a cattle slaughterhouse near Vezirköprü (Turkey). This time he taught the slaughtermen how a captive bolt stunner works and how to use it to render their cattle unconscious prior to cutting their throat. During the lesson all cattle were stunned by the slaughtermen under guidance of Asalet. The plant is now equipped with one of our captive bolt stunners as they expressed eagerness to use it more often. We will return to conduct follow up visits in the near future to provide further assistance and check that stunning is regularly put into practice. We would like to thank this plant for their openness and interest in technologies unfamiliar to them that can help drastically reduce the suffering cattle endure during slaughter.
