Today we spent another day visiting numerous Turkish cattle abattoirs to introduce the captive bolt stunner and educate on how animal suffering can at least be reduced when they are rendered first unconscious. More and more Halal consumers in Turkey are de-bunking the myth that Halal means slaughter with just a knife, and realizing Halal means „food safe to eat“ and stunning is perfectly acceptable as it is just be a part of the slaughter process to make it less scary and painful.
