Inspection of a turkey transport truck with cooling system

This evening, Eyes on Animals conducted an inspection of a truck transporting turkeys from northern France to a slaughterhouse in Germany, via the Netherlands. Poultry slaughterhouse Remkes whitens floor to reduce heat stress

Per the advice of Eyes on Animals, poultry slaughterhouse Remkes whitewashed the floor of their covered parking lot for poultry trucks. By whitening it, the floor reflects more sunlight and therefor decreases the temperature of the parking area. Popular Dutch TV show joins EonA to inspect poultry trucks during heatwave

During the heatwave in week 30, two journalists from the popular Dutch TV show EénVandaag joined Eyes on Animals to inspect poultry trucks. Temperatures were above 35 degrees that day. EonA visits Van Miert poultry slaughterhouse during heatwave

On Friday July 26 Eyes on Animals visited Van Miert poultry slaughterhouse in Breukelen. The temperature at 11am was already 36 degrees Celsius.  During our visit a poultry truck was parked directly in the sun, next to the slaughterhouse for 15 minutes. EonA visits poultry slaughterhouse GPS during heatwave

EonA team visits poultry slaughterhouse Remkes in Epe (NL) during heatwave

Today our team visited poultry slaughterhouse Remkes in Epe. Remkes mainly slaughters broiler-breeders.  Remkes has a covered parking area near the slaughterhouse where poultry trucks can park in the shade. It is known that this has a calming effect on the chickens.
