Work at a German dairy farm that produces milk for Eltern Zeit label (keep the calves with their mothers in the herd)

This week Eyes on Animals spent 5 days at a dairy farm in northern Germany that keeps the calves for at least 3 months with their mothers in the herd. IMPORTANT NEWS: Transport of unweaned calves by truck and ferry from Ireland to France systematically violates EU feeding intervals

In a response to our questions, the EU Commission confirms that there is no derogation to the feeding intervals in the case of animals transported on RORO (roll-on roll-off) vessels. Visit to the Wetering assembly center in Zwolle

🐖 In July 2025, 7 piglets died during transport from Lunteren to a slaughterhouse in Croatia. EonA and @AWF_Germany witnessed dead piglets being thrown off the loading ramp.
Our enforcement request was rejected by the #NVWA.
