After the luxury of 1.5 hours of sleep our Eyes on Animals and TSB|AWF teams are back on the road again with the ITD (official Polish Road Transport Inspectors) officers to check on livestock-transports leaving the Skaryszew horse market. We also catch trailers in bad technical condition and problematic international transports that leave the market without proper documentation (it was impossible to obtain the documentation at the market). The ITD impose many fines and we will be writing complaints to relevant authorities. The highlight of the day was the transport of horses belonging to cavalry re-enactment group, returning home after a show. We were very happy to see that these horses were calm and at least transported in a well-maintained truck, albeit old. Eyes on Animals and TSB|AWF together with the ITD that we have been giving training courses to, are making sure the law gets put into practice!
