Footage from Eyes on Animals to European Parliament

January 11, 2021

A new film by Eyes on Animals, Welfarm, Animals International and Animal Welfare Foundation, showing Dutch cattle being very badly treated in Lebanese and Libyan slaughterhouses, has been discussed in the Dutch Parliament. The Dutch Agriculture Minister states that it is of great concern that Dutch animals are slaughtered in countries where the animal welfare standards are clearly much lower. She therefore wants to set limitations on the export of live animals to certain countries outside of the EU and will discuss this at EU level. The subject will therefore be included in the European Parliamentary Survey of Animal Transport.
