Our EonA/AWF team was invited by Cemsan to give a 30-minute talk at their conference room at the Foteg exhibition in Istanbul. FOTEG Istanbul is a meeting point for food processing equipment suppliers, food production companies and food retailers. There are exhibitors and visitors from all over Turkey but also from around the world. It is a perfect platform to spread the message about the on-going serious animal welfare problems that exist during transport and slaughter and what needs to be done to correct the problems. There were many journalists from local and foreign media present as well. We hope that our presentation inspired people in the crowd to think twice about where their meat comes from and how the animals were treated, and to set welfare standards within their company when making business decisions with meat suppliers.
