EonA/WACPAW’s team in Ghana gave 3 animal welfare training sessions to farmers, transporters and butchers in Tolon and Savelugu Districts this past week.
We shared practical tips on humane handling, animal health, proper nutrition, biosecurity, lower-stress loading and unloading, and humane slaughter methods, including the use of captive bolt stunners to render animals unconscious before slaughter.
We also led activities to strengthen positive relationships between people and animals. Participants were engaged and appreciated the knowledge and skills they gained.
These outreach activities were carried out in collaboration with Corps Africa and Peace Corps Volunteers, who supported us in mobilising the communities. Together, we continue to promote better animal welfare and sustainable, compassionate livelihoods
