Training on how to stun animals at a halal cattle slaughterhouse near Düsze, Turkey

November 29, 2022

This morning we gave a training in a Turkish cattle slaughterhouse near Dűsze. They too were very interested in phasing out the practice of hoisting and cutting the throats of fully conscious and alert cattle and were ready to learn about the benefit of first stunning the animals. EonA taught them how a captive bolt stunner works and then taught them to use it correctly on cattle so that today the animals could be rendered unconscious, and thus insensitive to pain, during slaughter. We would like to thank them for their interest and willingness to improve. This is our 16th slaughterhouse now equipped with a stunner and with personnel trained in stunning animals. Slowly but surely the level of suffering among animals is being decreased  thank goodness.
