Today we held a meeting with several board members of the Leeuwarden cattle market and the veterinarian. The purpose of today’s discussion was to talk about our recent visit of the market and see where we could make further improvements together. We were pleased to hear that they had already discussed our recommendations from our inspection report internally and agreed with them. They will in the next few weeks start building a permanent loading dock to avoid cattle having to climb up steep inclinations of the trucks ramps, install extra ventilation and CCTV (camera surveillance) at the loading bays. This meeting resulted in getting good ideas for animal-welfare put into practice. We would like to thank them for this cooperation.
