Last month cattle at this plant in northern central Turkey were still being restrained, hoisted and having their throat’s cut while fully conscious, as is common practice in all slaughterhouses in Turkey. Last month (late May 2022), thanks to Aziz from Orkinos and HAYTAP, we were invited to train their workers on how to use a stunner and leased one out to them for free. Now, 4 weeks later during a follow-up visit they continue to stun the cattle. What a huge and real difference this makes for the animals.
