Café Weltschmerz is a media platform where journalists, academics, politicians and scientists meet to have an in-depth conversation about a subject. Café Weltschmerz is known as “slow television”. Recently Lesley Moffat, director of Eyes on Animals, was invited as guest to come and talk about Eyes on Animals and the work that the people in the organization do to reduce the suffering of farm animals. I want to tell you about Akuba. A young sow we met last week in Ghana. We were there in the first two weeks of December, inspecting and improving slaughterhouses together with the local NGO WACPAW. Our goal: curb the intense suffering of animals that is going on there.
