EonA lecture on animal-welfare to delegation from Indonesia

May 9, 2017

Indonesian delegation STC-Nestra hired Eyes on Animals to give a talk in Harderwijk (NL) about our animal transport inspections and how animal-welfare can be improved to a delegation of 7 animal- scientists and meat-industry people from Indonesia that they were hosting. We showed the on-going problems but also best practices in Europe and also discussed concerns regarding certain practices in Indonesia, such as inhumane techniques used to unload cattle from vessels. The group was very open to discussion and asked many questions. They know about Temple Grandin and stunning. They say Indonesia is trying to make progress. We would like to thank our dear friends at Animals Australia for sharing with us photos from their inspections in Indonesia for our talk and to STC- Nestra for the invitation to come.

She conducts research in Mongolia and asked whether — if she could secure funding — we would be willing to help animals there. Where there is a will, there is a way, so I said yes to Liz!
