Captive-bolt stunners being all maintained and repaired in Ghana

September 5, 2024

Thanks to the Fred Foundation and many dear donors, our first big package of captive bolt stunning repair kits just arrived in Ghana ! Safian, director of WACPAW and leader of the WACPAW/EonA project to reduce suffering of animals in abattoirs in Ghana will travel to the abattoirs where we distributed captive bolt pistols 2 years ago to replace any parts that are wearing out and make sure they are working well again. Soon we will be sending a box of brand new stunners too, we are just waiting on the ministry to finalize the papers. In this video you can see how crucial it is to get captibe bolt stunners in place in Ghana. Many countries, like Ghana, do not have tools, such as captive bolt stunners, to render animals quickly amd humanely unconscious before slaughter, and thus the animals suffer horrendously in the abattoirs.
