Livestock Trader Van Veen not interested in animal welfare advice EonA

On May 25th Eyes on Animals paid an unannounced visit to Van Veen’s assembly center in Zuilichem. Unfortunately, no one was able to speak to us. We were asked to send an e-mail which we did, several times. Unfortunately, to this day we have not received a response from Van Veen, even though we sent them several reminders. Therefore, we assume that Van Veen is not interested in a conversation with and/or advice from Eyes on Animals to improve animal welfare.

Kalfjes worden vanuit Ierland in vrachtwagens op 'gewone' veerboten van @StenaLine getransporteerd naar Frankrijk. Na 19 uur op zee (zonder gevoed te worden) gaan de dieren naar een controlepost in de buurt.

We hebben de vrachtwagens gevolgd om de kalfjes te kunnen inspecteren.

Eén van de 2000 kalfjes tijdens dit hartverscheurende transport.

Na de verplichte stop in Frankrijk gaan de kalfjes terug in de vrachtwagen. Met 300 dieren verspreid over drie verdiepingen. Op naar Nederland.
