Training of the French police on how to apply animal transport laws

October 6, 2009

french_police_2009Lesley from Eyes on Animals was contracted out by a German animal welfare organization to assist in their training program of the French gendarmes. Today we trained 25 gendarmes at the National Gendarmerie School in Fontainebleau. The gendarmes showed a high level of motivation and interest and afterwards there was a good discussion. We took the occasion to also distribute the new training brochure, so that when on the road the gendarmes have all the right information at their hands to conduct a thorough and effective inspection of livestock trucks, and if necessary hand out the appropriate penalties.
