Eyes on Animals offered a training course in the French language to francophone Belgian highway police officers so that they could learn how to inspect livestock trucks and check on animal welfare. During the morning we offered a theory training; EonA inspectors explained the European animal transport legislative requirements. In the afternoon a control point was set up and all livestock trucks were stopped and inspected by the newly-trained officers with assistance from the EonA inspectors. Each officer was given a copy of our training manual in the French language to assist them in the future when stopping animal trucks on their own. We were very impressed by their motivation and wish them lots of success in their future livestock truck inspections.
