Today Eyes on Animals and TSB|AWF with the help of Dr. Rabitsch are giving a day of theoretical training about the European legislative requirements for the protection of animals during transport to the WITD (road police) from the Lubuskie region in north-western Poland. The inspectors from all departments of the region are listening carefully and asking plenty of questions. The questions show us that the inspectors have had some experience in livestock-truck checks and are motivated to do more. Even the breaks are filled up with answering some extra questions that the inspectors are coming up with. Our video shown at the end of the training makes it clear to everyone that more inspections are needed to weed out the bad transport players still getting away with violating the law and causing serious animal suffering and animal-health risks.
