It is our fifth day of work with the ITD (Official Road Inspectors) from Lublin area, accompanied by Veterinary Inspectors. This time we only catch one livestock truck passing by to stop and check, but it was a very important inspection because there were may violations. The curtains to protect the birds from adverse weather are inappropriate, not allowing proper ventilation; the crates are broken, creating a) risk of injury and birds falling out onto the road, and b) restricting the space for birds remaining inside; there are many dead birds; and documentation under art. 4 is incomplete. The driver is fined, but also administrative proceedings against the transporter are initiated.
