Following the theoretical part of our training on the previous day, we join the ITD inspectors now on the highway for the practical part. They inspectors stop three different livestock trucks; with piglets and poultry. This gives us the opportunity to analyse different means of transport, different problems and very different attitude of the drivers: from very knowledgeable and helpful to poorly cooperating and neglecting even such basic things as water supply. The inspectors together with the team check on the condition of animals, measure the trucks and crates, calculate loading density, verify the condition and maintenance of equipment and finally analyse documents, identifying the missing parts and infringements. It is worth noting that one of the trucks was free of any violations of regulation 1/2005 and road law but the other two will face a fine or a process.
