Police training in Katowice, Poland– practical part

September 27, 2016

Practical training KatowiceEarly morning, in the company of ITD, Police, Veterinary Inspection and Customs Officers we go to a service area by the E40 highway to set up a control point. All livestock tucks will be stopped and inspected here during our practical training session. An empty chicken truck is stopped, giving a great opportunity to carefully inspect the vehicle and condition of the containers, as a result of which a few areas of concern are found. Next, the inspectors stop two pig transports. In one of the vehicles we see the importance of checking all decks: on the lower decks, only minor infringements are found, while the highest level has compartments that are severely overloaded. The pigs are overcrowded with no room to move. The other vehicle has incomplete transport documentation and partitions not installed. In both cases ITD imposes fines.
