Police training course given in Rzeszow, Poland

October 26, 2015

Today Eyes on Animals together with Animal Welfare Foundation organized our first traininig course for the road police and regional official veterinarians in Poland! Today it was held in Rzeszow. We had the fortune of having Dr. Rabtisch, European expert on livestock transport inspections, on our training team. 28 road police specialized in checking trucks (from the WITD) and 4 regional official veterinarians took part in our 6-hour theory course today. The participants were very motivated and have requested that our training team returns to give a practical course as well, when we can together stop and check on livestock trucks passing by.

Our aim is to get the road police equipped with all the knowledge and experience they need, so that they can routinely check on livestock trucks to see that the animals are being given the basic minimum protection granted to them by the EU law.

Dear friends,

I first discovered the bad side of factory-farming and industrial slaughter when I was a young girl of twelve.
When I visited a livestock market I saw a pile of sick animals left for dead behind the building. At a huge industrial poultry slaughterhouse, I saw dozens of live chickens walking around the bloody floor…

“We want to see calves flying out of this country,” the president of the Irish Farmers’ Association, Tim Cullinan. I want to see calves looked after on the farm they were born on, until they are weaned. So disappointing to see this nonsense again...
