October 2013: Compaxo installs videocamera surveillance

October 6, 2013

thumb_up

Compaxo slaughterhouse in the Netherlands again sets a good example. Last year they installed floor heating in the pen for suspect pigs and reduced noise levels, and now they just finished installing video camera surveillance in all places where live animals are being handled. Video surveillance is used to monitor that animal handling during unloading, lairaging andstunning is done calmly, with as little stress as possible.

We would like to thank Compaxo for being so open-minded and for putting our recommendations into practice!

Several articles about this improvement were published in Dutch agricultural journals:

The 🇪🇺 is still the largest exporter and transporter of live animals on the planet, causing much avoidable suffering and #AnimalWelfare tragedy.

We have a unique opportunity to act and #BanLiveExport ✊
