Today an Eyes on Animals team met with inspectors from the NVWA to discuss several topics of concerns; namely the need to trace the farmers and transport companies that tried to ship off cows in very poor condition that we recently observed as well as the condition of certain livestock vehicles. We were very pleased to hear that our call for proper access doors in livestock vehicles was listened to last year. The Dutch authorities have given orders to the RDW to pay close attention to this when handing out permits to livestock trucks. We would like to thank the Dutch official inspectors from the NVWA for their time.
