Fifth meeting in Brussels with ‘calf-welfare group’ to advise Flemish Minister of Animal Welfare

February 23, 2024

Today, on behalf of Eyes on Animals, Dr. Ronald Rongen participated in the fifth meeting of the Calf Farming Working Group, as part of the Flemish Council for Animal Welfare, in Brussels.

The agenda included discussions on the pros and cons of reaching chain agreements to improve calf welfare. It’s not an easy task, as various interest groups and organizations defend their positions. In a follow-up meeting, attempts will be made to formulate a proposal that is universally supported. This proposal aims to enhance calf welfare and enable objective monitoring and assurance, while ensuring profitability in calf farming. It’s a real challenge, a true “balancing act”. Eyes on Animals remains committed to promoting calf farming that prioritizes animal welfare. We will keep you informed!

🔥😳🧑🏼‍🌾 Bermen in brand steken tijdens deze droogte …. Wij noemen dat: van de pot gerukt!
En veel ‘weldenkende’ boeren waarschijnlijk ook.
