Eyes on Animals is the official auditor of Kalverliefde dairy in the Netherlands. Eduard, a specialist in dairy-cow behaviour and with years of practical experience of cow-calf rearing in the organic dairy industry, will be the Eyes on Animals auditor. The organic dairy farms producing for Kalverliefde will be audited once a year on a point system and Eyes on Animals will act as a consultant to optimize the cow/calf rearing conditions. Eyes on Animals has already audited 2 of the 5 dairy farms producing for Kalverliefde, with the remaining 3 being visited later this year. Eyes on Animals has years investigating the fate of unweaned calves that are unwanted by the dairy industry and face long-distance transport and barren conditions on veal factory farms and thus is very pleased to play a role in Kalverliefde dairy which makes it possible for calves to have a much better quality of life and remain with the mother longer on the farm.
