EonA speaks at CowSignal training workshop for dairy farmers

November 25, 2014

25.11.2014_NL_CowSignal_Presentation (4)The company CowSignals provides excellent training workshops to farmers on cattle behaviour, barn design and management. Their company slogan is “Happy Cow, Happy farmer” and they have a passion to improve the lives of dairy cattle, but also help the farmer enjoy his work more and earn more, so that everyone benefits. We were invited by CowSignals to give a talk to their participants of their Stressfree Stockmanship workshop being held today. Dairy farmers from Belgium, Ireland, Canada and Poland were present. We presented our work, what happens to dairy cattle after they leave the farm (transport and slaughter) and the shocking things we have seen but also many examples of best practices and improvements we have achieved by working together with open-minded industry players. We thoroughly enjoyed listening in to the training course and learned plenty of new things that will also help us in our field work. We would like to thank CowSignals and encourage all people linked to the dairy industry or working with cattle to sign up for one of their courses!

Dear friends and supporters,

As you know, we spend quite some time trying to reduce animal suffering and fear inside slaughterhouses by working directly with the plants.

This work is not always very glamorous. And most of the time we are not allowed to be too public about it.
