Today a team from Eyes on Animals participated in the Caring Farmers Day at the Eyckenstein farm in Maartensdijk, The Netherlands. Caring Farmers, founded two years ago, is a group of pioneers committed to produce food in harmony with nature.
There was a good turnout and several speakers addressed interesting topics and projects. Projects like keeping calves with cows (in which Eyes on Animals is also involved), opportunities for trees on farms, manure & soil, meat tax versus fair meat price and how to end to the current nitrogen impasse.
There were also sub-sessions on various and diverse topics as well as time to exchange thoughts and ideas. Eyes on Animals explained the upright catching method in one of the sessions.
Of course, there were plenty of opportunities for networking as well. All in all, it was a very successful and interesting day.
