The NVWA (Dutch government body in charge of enforcing animal-welfare law) invited Eyes on Animals to their Animal Conference today. 160 official animal-welfare inspectors were present. We gave 3 workshop sessions and then participated in a panel discussion. We brought up topics that we think need to be given more attention by the nvwa, gave illustrations of positive changes that have been put in place thanks to their efforts and the value of adequate and transparent communication. We met lots of new and motivated people, many of which made it clear that they chose to work for the nvwa to bring animal welfare a step further, especially now in a society that wants animals to be treated with respect and shown reciprocity. Thank you NVWA for inviting us, for your hard efforts and we look forward to more constructive work together !
