Today a team from Eyes on Animals was invited to give a speech at the KNMvD congress for farm animal veterinarians. We focused our presentation on the condition of many cattle we see once they leave the farm to go on transport, for sale at livestock markets and arrive at slaughterhouses, in the Netherlands and abroad. We hope that the Dutch veterinarian community will take this information and use it to brainstorm with the Dutch players in the cattle industry to find more ways to also improve the quality of life of our farm animals on the farm and afterwards- not just in physical health but also mental health (animal behavioural needs and emotions attended to). We would like to thank the KNMvD for the invitation and as usual, are happy to share knowledge and experiences with veterinarians.
