Brainstorming session at the Ministry of LNV

June 12, 2019

Today Eyes on Animals participated in a brainstorming session initiated by the Ministry of LNV. With representatives from the sector (Nepluvi, Livestock & Logistics, LTO, COV), the Dierenbescherming  and Dierencoalitie.

Theme: slaughter animals closer by the farms and carcass transport.  What are the consequences, for example, when one decides to make transport times shorter.  And of course there are a lot of things if this were to be introduced. Extremely fascinating and necessary to discuss this with each other and to identify all kinds of obstacles and perhaps (we hope) to overcome them.  At the end of this year we will meet again as a group.  In the meantime, the group members have all received “homework” based on a chosen case.  In this way we hope that everything becomes more concrete and more clear. We will keep you informed!

"Ongeveer een derde van alle boeren die vorig jaar werden gecontroleerd op hun gebruik van bestrijdingsmiddelen, hield zich niet aan de regels."
De @NVWA noemt het hoge aantal overtredingen "zorgwekkend".
"Een stille milieuramp" had ook gekund.
