Meeting with English scientists & Dutch transport company on welfare

Eyes on Animals was invited to London to participate in a small discussion group made out of scientists conducting research in animal transport and a transport company that makes its trucks available for the welfare research to be conducted. The purpose of the meeting was to tackle the theme of animal-welfare-during transport: what concerns there still were, what parts of the law needed changing, how we could together strengthen the sanctioning systems in other member states to get rid of the bad transport companies that continue to ride and make a profit, and what we could do at the EU level. We plan to meet on a regular basis, in order to raise the welfare niveau of animal welfare in a concrete and logical way.
