meeting with the Belgian Ministry of Health

September 22, 2010

Today Eyes on Animals met with an official veterinarian and authority on animal protection from the Belgian government. We discussed the Belgian sanction system for animal tansporters in violation and the urgent need for it to be strengthened. As well, that the Belgian police need to also be able to hand out administrative fines, not only p.v’s which are often not followed-up on.

We were pleased to hear that the official and private veterinarians in many Belgian slaughterhouses are using our brochure as a tool for better applying the legislation and that more police are interested in our training program.
