This afternoon our team was interviewed by an important Turkish national newspaper (Hurriyet) about our general concerns for animal-welfare in Turkish slaughterhouses and particular shock at the abnormally cruel handling and poorly-designed installations at Aygülur slaughterhouse in Kazan. We also discussed our efforts to cooperate with Turkish officials and some slaughterhouses themselves to establish concrete improvements to at least reduce suffering.
