Eyes on Animals participate in a Fontys transport study discussion group

January 14, 2009

Eyes on Animals take part in a discussion group about animal transport and logistics with researchers performing a study into transport at Fontys University. Eyes on Animals raise important issues concerning the needs of animals with the Fontys University researchers, as well as representatives from the industry and competent authorities like Savetra (Transportorganisation), PVE(Organisation Livestock, Meat, Eggs) ,COV (Central Organisation for the Meat Industry), NBHV (organisation of livestock traders), CBL (Central Food Organisation) and the VWA (Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority from the Dutch Ministry). Main points of the discussion are: animal welfare during transport, how to inspect and judge animal welfare and unclear points in the transport legislation 1/2005.
