Theory training of Budapest highway police

July 10, 2013

10.07.2013_HU_police_training_Budapest__52

Today Eyes on Animals and Animal Welfare Foundation were invited to give a theory training about the EU legislation protecting animals during transport to the highway police from the region of Budapest. Via a Power-point presentation and various activities imitating real cases, the police learned about the EU requirements, the Hungarian sanction system for violations to the animal-welfare-during transport rules, how to reach the local official veterinarians and what action to take to avoid animals from suffering. We made it clear that they should forward their complaints to the country of origin of the animals, and to note down the exporter and farmer in their complaints, as they often play a role in the violations particular pertaining to loading density and fitness of transport.
We thank them for their close attention and motivation.

Dear friends,

It’s not every day that an animal-welfare organization takes on the challenge of redesigning a large pig slaughterhouse and their animal handling techniques, but that’s exactly what we did in 2020.
