Training of the French police

December 2, 2009

french_police_2009

Lesley, inspector and coordinator from Eyes on Animals, was contracted out on a freelance basis by a German animal welfare organization to train 20 French police at the National Gendarmerie school in Fontainebleau. Lesley, together with Dominic from the French group PMAF taught the gendarmes about the European animal welfare-during- transport legislation. The goal is that when faced with an inspection of a livestock truck in the field, these gendarmes will be able to check and enforce the animal welfare laws.

Over 900 deaths and more than 4 million people affected, mostly in Punjab and Sindh provinces.

Over 2 million have been displaced, making this one of the country’s worst recent flood disasters.
