2024
- October 8, 2024: RTE Prime Time aired a powerful and disturbing documentary about ongoing violations during the export of calves from Ireland, including the abuse of calves at an export center and starvation periods exceeding 30 hours. Lesley Moffat, director of Eyes on Animals, was interviewed for the program.
- October 8, 2024: The Dutch show EenVandaag aired an episode featuring the investigation by Eyes on Animals, Ethical Farming Ireland, L214, and Dier&Recht, which revealed the horrific conditions calves endure during their journey to the Netherlands and other countries.
2023
- July 10, 2023: Eyes on Animals, L214 and Ethical Farming Ireland released their report and film about their investigation into the fate of unwanted calves from the Irish dairy industry that head on long journeys to factory veal farms in the Netherlands. - July 12, 2023: EenVandaag discusses the catching of chickens and the upcoming ban on “catching chickens by their legs”. Among the speakers are poultry farmer Ruud Zanders, who catches his chickens upright following the Eyes on Animals method, and Fleur Hoorweg, a researcher at Wageningen University. The broadcast features footage from Eyes on Animals, showing both the “catching by their legs” method and the “upright catching” method. The broadcast can be viewed here (starts at 12:14).
2022
- August 24, 2022: Omroep Brabant, a Dutch regional broadcaster from the province Brabant, interviews veterinarian and pig farmer Kees Scheepens after he and Eyes on Animals conducted heat stress inspections at Vion in Boxtel. Kees states that Vion is guilty of animal abuse.
- August 10, 2022: First item on Omroep Brabant television news was about our inspection of pig trucks waiting for far too long, in the sun, outside the Netherland’s largest pig slaughterhouse: Vion in Boxtel.
2021
- March 05, 2021: As a guest of Ester Ouwehand (leader of the Animal Party), Madelaine Looije was invited to talk on the morning TV show ‘Goedemorgen Nederland’. Esther and Madelaine talked about the welfare problems during long distance transport of animals, such as the Spanish cattle that were stuck on board of a vessel for almost three months and the import of tens of thousands of unweaned calves.

2020
- December 17, 2020: The new film by Eyes on Animals and partner-organizations about the export of Dutch cattle to inhumane slaughterhouses in Lebanon and Libya was showed to the European Commission.
- February 25, 2020: German television channel ZDF broadcasted a documentary Tiertransport grenzenlos – ZDFmediathek about animal transport to countries outside of the EU. The maker of the film had joined Eyes on Animals part of the time during our efforts to improve slaughterhouses in Turkey.
2019
- November 30, 2020: The Dutch consumer program RADAR dedicates an item to the Eyes on Animals investigation into the welfare of male-kids from the goat-dairy industry. Click HERE to watch it.
- October 17, 2019: Zembla, a popular Dutch television program, aired a documentary on the increased imports of calves, and the negative impact it has onboth their welfare and the environment. They used inspection footage from Eyes on Animals. Watch the item HERE (Dutch only).
- September 24, 2019: The Dutch television channel RTL4 broadcasted an item on their news show about the mobile cattle slaughterhouse that is being tested in the north part of the Netherlands. Eyes on Animals was asked to give their opinion about it. Click HERE to watch it.
- August 5, 2019: EénVandaag, a popular Dutch tv news-show, broadcasted an item about the heat stress that poultry feel when transported to slaughterhouses on hot days. The journalists of EénVandaag interviewed Eyes on Animals during our inspections of poultry slaughterhouses and used footage we made. Watch the item HERE.
- July 23, 2019: Hart van Nederland, a daily and very popular Dutch TV news show, broadcasts an item about animal-welfare problems that occur during transport in the heat. Our inspections of livestock trucks parked in the sun are shown and we are interviewed. Click HERE.
- May 16, 2019: Swedish TV reports on our investigation with L214 into the cruelty involved in the transport of unweaned calves from Ireland via France towards The Netherlands, Spain and Italy. Click HERE.

2018
- September 10, 2018: BBC Scotland broacasts a television documentary about the dark fate of calves born on dairy farms and a more promising solution to this dairy industry problem. Eyes on Animals was part of this documentary and helped uncover the long distance journey logs of the Scottish calves. Watch HERE.
- July 27, 2018: RTL4, a popular TV show reporting on news pertinent to the Netherlands, broadcast a show about the suffering of pigs when transported to slaughterhouses during extreme heat. - November 21, 2017: The German channel ZDF broadcasts a powerful and disturbing documentary by Manfred Karreman about animal transport and slaughter, with interviews and footage from our colleagues and AWF|TSB and AI as well as ourselves at Eyes on Animals. Watch HERE.
- September 18, 2017: BBC broadcasts a documentary about the export of live animals to Turkey with clips made by Eyes on Animals and Animal Welfare Foundation of showing the slaughter conditions for these animals once they arrive in Turkey. Watch HERE.

- October 26, 2015: A documentary was shown on prime time television in Finland on welfare problems occuring during slaughter. The aversive effects of CO2 gas on pigs was analysed and Eyes on Animals footage showing this was broadcasted, as of minute 23 in the Finnish TV show. Click HERE.

2011
- November 2011: click on Omroep Brabant to watch a news clip about our inspection at Hedel horse market, one of the largest horse markets in Europe.
- July 2011: Click on Uitgesproken on Nederland 2, to watch a 10-minute documentary about an Eyes on Animals/Animal Welfare Foundation/CIWF investigation of EU animal transport trucks trying to cross the border into Turkey. The temperatures were high, and many animals did not receive adequate space, water or feed despite being blocked for hours and even days at this border. On board one truck from a Dutch/German company, there were 2 unfit bulls that were forced to endure further transport and were not cared for properly by the drivers. Eyes on Animals inspectors are also interviewed in this show.
- April 2011: Click on Uitgesproken on Nederland 2, a Dutch news show to watch a documentary about an Eyes on Animals/Tierschutzbund Zurich investigation of a Dutch animal-transport truck in violation of the European regulations and an interview with the Eyes on Animals inspectors. 2010
- July 2010: click on No Country for Animals on Global TV(Canada).
The documentary focuses on the animal welfare problems in Canada and on the hard efforts several Canadians are making to change things there. Eyes on Animals and our international taskforce members are accompanied by Canadian television where we show them what improvements in animal welfare have taken place in Europe and Lesley (originally Canadian) questions why Canada is still dragging so far behind. We visit a Dutch pig farmer that has switched from sow stalls to group-housing and stopped performing castration. We then visit a Dutch “pig whisperer” who teaches farmers to better understand the needs of their animals and at night we inspect livestock trucks together with an Italian veterinarian and police at the Italian/French border.
2009
- September 2009: click on Gifkikkers on VARA (The Netherlands). Eyes on Animals inspectors are in the new Dutch television series “Gifkikkers”. The first episode was about Dutch livestock transport and showed Lesley and Tatjana training the “gifkikkers” on the animal protection legislation and after Tatjana on the road inspecting pigs on board long-distance Dutch livestock trucks passing through Germany.This program led to parliamentary questions being asked to the House of Representatives!
